The Project
FashionKIC (Knowledge Innovation Community for Sustainable Fashion) is a transnational European cooperation project co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme.
It brings together innovation actors from Greece, Portugal, Romania, and Spain to strengthen collaboration across the fashion and textile ecosystem.
The project supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), designers, start-ups, educators, and policymakers in navigating sustainability requirements, digital transformation, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
By combining technology, education, entrepreneurship, and policy dialogue, FashionKIC builds the foundation for long-term systemic change in European fashion.

What we do
Our Activities
1. Regional Innovation Nodes & Community Engagement
FashionKIC establishes four regional innovation nodes in Greece, Portugal, Romania and Spain, bringing together designers, SMEs, educators, policymakers and other ecosystem actors. Through local events, stakeholder forums and cross-node workshops, the project activates regional fashion ecosystems and encourages collaboration and knowledge exchange across Europe.
2. Capacity Building & Fashion Innovation Support
FashionKIC delivers training programmes, learning modules and collaborative pilots focused on sustainable and digital fashion. These activities equip designers, start-ups, SMEs and educators with the skills, tools and knowledge needed to implement circular practices and adopt digital technologies. The programme also encourages collaboration and practical experimentation across disciplines.
3. Entrepreneurship Acceleration & Ecosystem Impact
FashionKIC also supports early-stage ventures through a dedicated acceleration programme that provides mentoring, workshops, investor connections and market access opportunities. The programme culminates in showcase events where participating teams present their ideas and solutions, and contributes to strengthening sustainable fashion entrepreneurship and innovation across Europe.

FashionKIC will develop a range of practical tools and knowledge resources to support the sustainable and digital transformation of the fashion ecosystem.
