Betty Tsakarestou, Ph.D. is an associate professor in Advertising and PR and Director and co-initiator of Advertising and Public Relations Lab- ADandPRLAB, founded in 1993 at the Department of Communication, Media and Culture of Panteion University and member of edcom. She is the Scientific Coordinator of the CREATIVE+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub of Panteion University since 2022, a phygital initiative, co-funded by state and EC, having organized innovation bootcamps, startup competition and AI SDGs hackathon in partnership with startup ecosystem stakeholders, and having organized an entrepreneurial and networking trip to Station F, engaging with Paris startup ecosystem actors. Betty is serving as an Associate Director for the new English language MA in Digital Transformation: e-Diplomacy, e-Campaigning, and Digital Law (#MA DigiDCL) at Panteion University (launched in 2023), having being member of the academic team of co-designers and co-initiators since 2020. Betty is serving as the Branding Chair and Research Liaison at International Communication Division of AEJMC since 2016, V-P, Global Media Education Council, as a BoD Member of the Institute of Communication in Greece, as a mentor at The People’s Trust and a member of the advisory board of Stewards.gr promoting social innovation and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. She is an International Exchange Alumna of the Study of U.S. Institutes on Journalism and Media with the support of US Department o State and the U.S. Embassy in Athens, She served as Director for Educational Radio-Television at the Ministry of Education focusing on its digital transition and transformation (2010-12) and as a media literacy expert in EC (2010- 12) Between 2007-2010 she worked as a member of the editorial board of the monthly “Tribune of Ideas”, at Lambrakis Press.
