Scale2Connect (Expanding Skills2Scale Alliance to enhance academia-enterprise collaborations for Deep-Tech Innovations) is a European project aiming to strengthen collaboration between universities, research organizations, businesses, and innovation ecosystems, with a strong focus on Deep Tech technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Beyond 5G technologies. The project builds upon the successful Skills2Scale model and seeks to expand its impact across emerging innovation ecosystems in Europe and Latin America.
Through the creation of synergies among academia, startups, investors, and entrepreneurship support organizations, the project promotes the development of deep-tech skills, fosters innovation, and facilitates knowledge transfer from research to the market. At the same time, it contributes to empowering entrepreneurship among young researchers and students, while strengthening the connection of regional innovation ecosystems with international collaboration networks.
The main objectives of the project are:
- Strengthening collaboration between Higher Education Institutions and businesses in the Deep Tech sector.
- Developing skills in cutting-edge technologies such as AI and Beyond 5G.
- Supporting startups and research teams through acceleration and mentoring programs.
- Promoting knowledge transfer and innovation between Europe and Latin America.
- Creating sustainable collaboration mechanisms and innovation ecosystems.
- Enhancing entrepreneurial culture and employability among young researchers and students.
- Developing policies and best practices to support deep-tech entrepreneurship.

The role of Envolve in the project:
Envolve is the coordinator of the Scale2Connect project and is responsible for the overall management, implementation, and strategic monitoring of the project. In parallel, Envolve leads activities related to:
- the management and coordination of the consortium,
- quality assurance and risk management,
- the development of acceleration programms for deep-tech startups,
- strengthening collaboration between universities and the entrepreneurial ecosystem,
- knowledge transfer and integration with the Skills2Scale ecosystem,
- communication, dissemination, and sustainability of the project’s results.
